Slope

Walkways should have a running slope no steeper than 1:20. Ideally the cross-slope on walkways should be no steeper than 1:50. Where this is not possible, cross-slopes should be as shallow as possible.

Walkways with slopes steeper than 1:20 in the direction of travel should be designed as ramps. Further information is provided in the section on ramps.
