2) How do I make a gift of securities to CNIB?

If you would like to make a gift of securities or mutual funds today, simply follow these easy steps:

Step 1
Complete the Securities Transfer Direction form, then print and sign it.

Step 2
Fax or give the form to your broker or financial advisor.

Step 3
Instruct your broker or financial advisor to transfer the shares directly to CNIB’s account.

Step 4
Fax a copy of this form to Gilbert Mallette, Manager, Treasury and Special Projects, CNIB at 416-480-7700

CNIB needs your address so that we can issue your tax receipt

CNIB accepts flow through shares if the shares are fully matured and be publicly traded.

7) Is it the same tax treatment if I sell the securities and give the money to CNIB?

No. In order to realize the capital gains tax savings, you must transfer the shares directly to CNIB.
